I just received the Big Damn Hero book. Book 2 comes out in two weeks. What's your thoughts of book 1?

I hadn’t heard of this but thanks for sharing! Will be picking up this series ASAP!
I read book the first novel and thought it was okay. All the backstory on the characters and 'verse bogged it down a bit. I understand the need to tell the backstory, but hope the next book will be a smoother, more fast-paced read.
