I'm finally participating! Woohoo!
I read three chapters and I already love Maskelle. It also made me realize that it's been a long time since I've read a book with a female protagonist in her forties.
Worldbuilding seems interesting and I'm eager to learn more about it as well

I’m listening to this one on audio, am a little over half way through and I believe we have a winner 😉.

Of the three selections we’ve read so far, this one is my clear favorite.

I like the characters, the banter& humor, and the world itself. Rian’s character motivations are not quite clear to me (why is he deciding to follow Meskelle?) and there are some other small quibbles but on the whole I am really enjoying it. I also like that we are following an older woman and that there is plenty of life our characters have lived through before this story even began. Gives this book an almost episodic/ slice of life feel.

After finishing I have to say I loved it. It has its flaws but I truly enjoyed the characters and the story. This was a great pick!

I really enjoyed this one as well! Excited to read more by Martha Wells.

Ahhhh my audio copy just came in from the library! Here’s to three days of furious audiobook listening haha. But I’m really glad to see so many positive comments about this one. Did we finally find a winner? 🤞
