Pride and Predjudice now has zombies, Cinderella is and android, Sherlock Holmes has even become a woman in a book I saw the other day.

For the month of March & April find a old story that has been told in a different way. Any type of books works as long as you can tie it to the original version.

I picked up The Loners the other day and noticed it compared it to Lord of the Flies. So I am going to see how the modern day version of that story plays out.

Krista Barnett (mzkris25) For the month of April, I'm going to give Hyde a try. It's a retelling of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, from Mr. Hyde's point of view.

I read The Loners

One of the little blurbs compared this book to The Lord of the Flies, made modern.

An accident happens in a high school that is for some reason close enough to a high school that all of the school is infected with a virus that makes them deadly to adults. They are sealed in the school and the book picks up a year later showing how they have divided into gangs based on social cliques and how violence has become a natural way of life.

Not sure how realistic a lot of the book is but it was interesting.

Krista Barnett (mzkris25) I really wanted to love this book. It had all the potential to be amazing, but for me Hyde was a miss. The story just seemed to drag on forever. There were some interesting moments sprinkled about here & there, but not nearly enough to keep me reading. After struggling for a month to finish this book, I finally threw in the towel. ☹
