Classics Clique discussion

The Beautiful and Damned is going to be our group read in March!
I've never read anything by F. Scott Fitzgerald so I am super excited to get to it!
Have you read it before?

Yay, I’m super excited! I’ve bought the book today (and a bunch of others as well), and it’s going to be my first book by Fitzgerald in English.
I’ve read The Great Gatsby, which I loved, and also Tender Is The Night, which I want to re-read, as I guess I didn’t manage to fully understand. Although the latter kind of reminded me of Remark’s The Black Obelisk, as it also deals with mental illnesses.
And I’ve been longing to read The Beautiful and Damned since the time I watched the tv show Gossip Girl, as it was one of Selena’s most favourite books :)

Has anyone started reading the book? I have, and I’m sooo much in love! The Russian translation of Fitzgerald does not convey his beautiful writing, and I’m so glad to read the book in the original. And the plot itself is wonderful. I believe I’ll have to read all kinds of analyses afterwards to understand it better, but it’s still enjoyable.
