When Anne turned up dead, what did you think was the motive?

I wondered if someone was upset that Anne had "lost" Catherine. Then I wondered if they wanted to make sure no one found the little girl.

I thought that, too, at first but couldn’t imagine why they’d kill the person who knew where she was. Her murder confounded me for a while.

Someone was looking for Catherine and Anne couldn't tell them where she was.

I always get crazy ideas. Initially, I couldn't remember Anne's background. I thought that maybe Catherine was her daughter, and Emma used her to get money from Willbanks. I thought she was killed so she wouldn't let them find out their secrets. I was sure Emma killed her.

It would be a way for Sarah to keep Catherine too. Willbanks wouldn't have a claim if she wasn't Emma's child.
