Hi guys, I read this book in January and would love to discuss with you all. I'd also like to join you all when you guys read book 3 (Storm of Swords).

I started this a week ago and I’m about 20% finished. gRRM’s writing style really brings everything to life. Even the food descriptions.
I'm just starting on this today. Got a bit bogged down in the book I was reading before - how has March gone by so quickly?! Happy to finally get to it, though! Hope y'all don't mind me jumping in on the series with you. I read the first book some time ago and I'm hoping that having a group to discuss the books with will help keep me on track. (*crossing my fingers*)
I have just finished the book, and I have to say that I love it. The characters, the atmosphere, how the author shows the intrigues of the court and between the different sections. I recommend this book to everybody.
I'm almost on 20% in the book and would really like to join.
This group will be a perfect reminder to just keep reading and not start several other books along the line. I'm reading it in English and as it is not my mother tongue I am awfully slow with reading this. George R.R. Martins construction of sentences and wording is not the easiest but I enjoy it so much.

Did all of you also watch the TV show? And did you read or watch first?
I personally so far never watched it but came across the first book on Amazon some time ago and now im hooked.

I‘d love to, even though I have to see how it goes. I‘m already doing Clear the Shelves and half of Popsugar this year. But I‘ll definitely keep it in mind. Who knows, perhaps I‘ll get faster in reading them 😄
This book is so good I can't see why some one would think it's horrible. I just love the interplay between the characters. The world building... All the plotting and scheming. All the foreshadowing and trying to figure out what's going to happen next from the clues given earlier in the story....
Well I'm waiting for the hammer to drop Sunday. The Jenny song was pretty tearful at the end of the last episode.
I‘m finished! From time to time I was Not Site whether I‘ll read it until the challenge ends. It‘s...well, a lot.
But I absolutely loved it. I bought a set with the five already published books and I absolutely look forward to read them.
By the way, I finally started watching the Show because I‘m so into it. 😄

I'm on the last chapter so I'll finish it shortly. This book like the rest of the series and the show are really good. (view spoiler)

I'm towards the end of season 1. So far I really like it. I'm not sure whether it is because I already saw pictures of the show before, but the setting and look fits pretty good to my imagination of the world. That does not happen often in any screen adaption of books.
I'm curios how it will be when the story lines of book and show begin to differ more.
