Sounds great! Do you have an author/link?

Yeah, click the underlined title in my comment --that links to the Goodreads page for it. Author is Stuart Jaffe.

Something by Brandon Sanderson? I’m grieving after ending the Mistborn series and would to read more?
I've heard good things about Trail of Lightning by Rebecca Roanhorse. It was published last summer, so it's not *brand* brand new, but it hasn't been around that long.
Southern Bound is free for Kindle right now. I don't know if it's always free or if it's a short-term promo because a new book was released a couple weeks ago. https://smile.amazon.com/Southern-Bou...

i've read this, it's pretty good
The Hum and the Shiver is a really good start to a series which is on the border between Urban Fantasy and Magical Realism. I'm afraid it's a case of read the first and wait for Tor to lower the prices of the rest.

These are all great suggestions! I should mention that I'll close this thread on Monday, March 18, so that I can open a survey. We'll start the group read on April 1.
The Restorer by Amanda Stevens was a book I recently read and thoroughly enjoyed. About a woman who restores old southern cemeteries. She has to deal with ghosts, solve a mystery about a killer and try not to fall for a guy.

I'm actually on the brand new second book now, but would recommend The Voodoo Killings by Kristi Charish. Anne Bishop also has a newer UF series that's on my to-read wishlist, starting with last year's Lake Silence

I own it and haven't read it yet. Sounds good.
