Play Book Tag discussion

In The Proposal, Nik and Carlos meet at a baseball game. Her boyfriend had just asked her to marry him in a very public manner and she turned him down. After she was abandoned there, Carlos and his sister try to help Nik get out of the stadium without being bothered by others who saw what happened. The story continues with Nik and Carlos getting to know each other and dating.

Nik and Carols separately also spend a lot of time with their own friends and family. This is where the author shows their personalities and includes fun dialogue. Nik is a strong woman who is a writer and Carlos is a caring doctor. The author tries to take these characteristics and find a good balance between the two. They deal with things outside of their relationship and give each other support.

The book is slightly predictable, but it does not need to include big issues in the plot. It is really about the characters with their ups and downs. It is a cute modern romance novel.

I read her last book (whose name is escaping me. Actually, the plot is too. Memorable obviously) and it was also light fun. I think I will give The Proposal a whirl as well—sometimes a light 3 star read is just what I need!
