Hey out there! I need some help.
So I've been working at my church's media team for about a month now. I'm still new but have learned so much about the equitment and I love the team. But, ever since I've gotten there, there's been this guy who's been "overly friendly," Like, I'm getting ready to start on my camera job and there he is, walking over and he just doesn't stop talking. And if you knew me, you'd know these two things, 1.) I like my room 2.) I can't be mean to people. So telling him to leave me alone, is just impossible. Which I know shouldn't be hard, but it is. And it gets worse. I tried giving him the cold shoulder last week, ignoring him and avoiding him, and he eventually found me when i was talking with a group of other members about softball and he just keeps patting my shoulder, telling the other members that I'd have a good throwing arm and just saying things as if he knows me. I found it annoying and i hated him touching me. UGH! I just need help! I don'tknow how to make him leave me alone without being mean! And reminder, I'm at a church which makes it even harder to be mean!

Approach him and tell him how you feel and that you enjoy your space
What if you have and he's just that weird and persistant? :(
Oh, then I guess now would be the time to tell him again with a little "so could you please stop following me" at the end
Okay, it just sucks being that harsh, but then again i hate having a troll following me.
Yeah, I once had to tell at classmate to back off because she kept following my group of friends around and she kept butting into my conversations. I told her if she could please back off but then she got all defensive and that made me feel worse cuz most of the time she is sensitive, and annoying. I just hate being mean sometimes. (I say sometimes because sometimes they really deserve it)
I totally get that! And that's why I've been so accepting of his gestures, but I just don't even know how to tell him to leave. Ugh! It just makes me mad because he's added stress to something that should've been fun for me. :P But sometimes people do need to be told to back off. And I guess thats my last resort.

You guys are like saints, oh my gosh! Haha I'm like the total opposite. When somebody bothers me I make sure they know it. And I can be very mean at times....but I'm way nicer now!! Haha...ha....ha.
I wish I had some of your aggression then! Because I need to man up and just be able to call people out instead of letting them trample me! Either extreme is bad, whether it be too mena or nice.

It's so much better to be more positive for me, though, in middle school. Since I'm not stuck with the same people all day I don't hold as much of a grudge with them. So yay! I'm happy lol :P

@Rigby yeah I get that but with different reasons, it's with a guy I have a crush on and he's super cute (to me) and funny and he is in all my classes, and idk why but the world keeps matching me up with him so if there is a group that's chosen with the "ok you're a 1 and now all The 1s get together" thing in school and we always end up in the same group, but idk if he has a crush on me or not. He says he doesn't but his actions say otherwise (he smiles when he denies he has a crush on me). And to make things worse, he is practically best friends with the most popular guy in my grade. Ugh! @jessica I'm in middle school too!
Well, here is a seniors words of wisdom on that subject Delilah, don't bring it up! No matter how tempting or obvious it is, guys don't like to be pushed. My friends and I had the same problem and by pointing it out to the guy, it weirds them out. Another tip, keep your friends out o it most of the time! They are a huge help, but they create alot of akward moments when you and the guy are together. And he'd probably like to just hang out with you rather than your friends (that is until you date, then he has to man up and hang out with your friends!) But he knows how you feel, so just allow him to come in.. Patience my friend, patience. :)
