Electra-Woman would be easier for me I think, but I'm not bothered whoever we pull through. How long to we get to recruit?

You can recruit the portal hero any time in the remaining year.

The Raven, Electra-Woman, and Daphne Powell seem like the easiest challenges. I have a preference for Daphne Powell but would be happy with any pick.

I'd say Electra woman or the raven too. The others seem to have some more obscure challenges.

I'd vote for Electra-woman but happy to go with whatever the majority fancy.

I like Daphne unless someone can tell me a book with AI in it. I had a hard time with that one last time. ;-)

Any of the Iain M Banks Culture books - the ships are all AIs, or I read a detective type one called Reality 36 that was quite good. I'm sure I can think of more given a bit of time 🙂

Dark Horse has an AI. I enjoyed it last year. And if you've not read any of Douglas Adams hitchhiker's series, I'm sure Marvin qualifies.

Most of Neil Asher's books have AI's in them.

late to the discussion but I would have gone for Electra or Daphne

The Murderbot novellas also hav AI. You should read them if you haven’t yet. They are all fabulous.

Also Long Way to a Small Angry Planet and Closed and Common Orbit are excellent books with AI.

Looks like Raven or Daphne Powell are the easiest of the remaining bunch.

I'm still favouring Raven since she has two really easy challenges and one where you have to hunt down a 'French' book.

Only one of Daphne's challenges looks really easy. The other two will require hunting down books with mind powers and visions in their content.

I'm for Raven too. I have a couple of books on my to read list with french settings too so to me all 3 look quite easy. I always find it hard to find books where something happens in the story as you don't know before you've read the book!

Raven would be my first choice too. Looks like this one is going to be an easy decision!

Hayley - I completely agree. I've just by accident stumbled upon one for the main heroes (Blackwing I think) where a character uses a glider in the story, but there's no way I'd have found it on purpose!

I can get behind raven.

I'm going to have to pinch someone's ideas for the glider in Blackwing eventually. I'm finding this one really hard.

I read The Paper Magician where the MC just happens to flee a house on a glider she finds lying around 😄

Same here, I read Inkmistress for that. Was reading it for another hero and it just happened to have a glider escape in it so I thought ah lucky! and switched it round.

I can go with that but need some french books. I don't think I have any on my tbr or am just right now drawing a blank.

I was thinking of either Enchantée or The Nightingale for that. Both are set in Paris I think.

Sandy, I think I'm going to go with The Last Days of New Paris. Mieville is usually a good read for me and it isn't overly long or part of a series 🙂

By the way, have we officially claimed Raven yet?

There is only Manimal and Johnny B. remaining and Manimal looks the easier of the two so he's got my vote.

I second Manimal. How did we gain another portal hero so quickly? I’m not sure I can squeeze in more books this year!

I'm happy with Manimal too, though to be honest I'm so far behind this year that I doubt I'll get around to it :-(

Manimal definitely looks easier.

I'm happy with Manimal as well, if only because he's got a cooler name and picture.

I actually thought Johnny B looked easier but I have so many other heroes to finish I won't get round to these either so happy with whatever!
