Petra | 1118 comments Mary Anne, it's nice to see you posting again. It's been a long winter, hasn't it? How are things?

message 8: by Mary Anne (new)

Mary Anne | 210 comments It has indeed been a longish winter.

message 9: by Magdelanye, Senior Flight Attendant (new)

Magdelanye | 2860 comments the miracle officially commences:
the longish winter is winding up!
The buds are certain of it, and even old bones are feeling it. May we all bloom!

Petra | 1118 comments Spring has sprung

The birdies is.

Magdelanye | 2860 comments i remember that old ditty!
but i seem to remember the last line as
the Flowers is?
as it is, the birdies are chirping and zipping in and out of the trees, building nests I guess.
I'm feeling glad that we have survived the longish winter and beaming love ❤

message 12: by Petra (new)

Petra | 1118 comments I looked it up. The original seems to be "boidies" but people have turned this into a ditty with variations and "flowers" is one. Interesting! I didn't know any of this.
It's wonderful that people have adapted this little poem.
As well, there seems to be a second verse to the original. I've never heard of a continuation to the ditty.

Spring is sprung, the grass is riz
I wonder where the birdies is..
The bird is on the wing - that's absurd -
The wing is clearly on the bird!

Here's a version with "flowers" in it"

Spring is sprung, the grass is riz,
I wonder where the flowers is?

And everywhere are signs of spring.
The little boid is on the wing.

"gee ma'am but that absoid!
I thought the wing was on the boid!"

Magdelanye | 2860 comments LOL <,'.',[....
Petra this is hilarious

the wing permits the little boid to rise
the boid is on the air

the air is under the wing
uplifted by the sing

Mary Anne | 210 comments Love the springing back and forth - I feel the joy you both feel.

message 15: by Magdelanye, Senior Flight Attendant (new)

Magdelanye | 2860 comments joy unlimited :-)

message 16: by Petra (new)

Petra | 1118 comments Love this! LOL!

Spring is such a great time.....even if it's wet, dark and gloomy like today.

message 17: by Mary Anne (new)

Mary Anne | 210 comments Fall is my favourite season, but spring brings me joy for my little garden and the planting I do. Wet, dark and gloomy (while warmer than it was in winter) makes the worms happy.
