Ryan, I think you are next up. What will we read next?

message 2: by Ryan (new)

Ryan Bellerose | 35 comments Yes, thank you. I select The Art of the Deal by Donald Trump

Gretchen (gkonkler5) | 44 comments Are you April fooling? Ha! I’ll give it a go but not sure it’s my cup of tea.

Dani | 69 comments I second your response, Gretchen. Haha

It's a different kind of book than we normally read and it's a little politically charged, but if this is what Ryan chooses then it shall be our next book! Thank you, everyone, for keeping an open mind even if you have reservations about the author.

The book is about 400 pages long, so let's give it a month. How about Saturday May 4th?

Ryan Bellerose | 35 comments You called it, Gretchen. I was, in fact, making an April Fools joke. I didn't mean to wait so long to declare "April Fools!" I was under the weather this week and had to play catch-up on my obligations.

I admit, I didn't think the club would permit this book since it seems everyone else is on the other side of the aisle. I've already read it, and it's my least favorite of the President's books, but it's the one everyone recognizes.

Thanks for playing along and I do genuinely appreciate that you were willing to give it a chance.

My actual selection is: Robin: The Definitive Biography of Robin Williams by Dave Itzkoff.

Gretchen (gkonkler5) | 44 comments Ha! Very good Ryan. The delayed reveal also perfect. This has preoccupied my thoughts a lot this last week. How I was going to put my feelings aside and hopefully learn something maybe even start to view trump more compassionately. That being said even if this were chosen before he was elected not sure I'd be that into it.

On to your actual choice. I can't wait to read this!

You definitely had me, Ryan. I'm glad you have a sense of humor when it comes to politics. That's something missing from the world right now.

Robin: The Definitive Biography of Robin Williams by Dave Itzkoff runs 528 pages. This is a longer book for us, but I expect it will progress quickly. How does May 12 sound?

message 9: by Dani (new)

Dani | 69 comments Hahahaha! Nice one Ryan! May 12 works for me!

Amy Wong (amywong_marsu) | 47 comments The Genie!

I have finals the week before can we talk about the book the following weekend please? I'm worried I wont get through it in time!

No problemo, we can play it by ear.

How's everyone doing? Does anyone need more time or should we begin?

Gretchen (gkonkler5) | 44 comments I’m done and ready to discuss.
