Ever wonder what happens to those runner-ups in our BOOK OF THE MONTH polls? They have a new home here in this thread! This is a new poll called Second Chance Reads. Tell us if you like this new idea ;-)

Is there a particular timeframe for reading this one?

Good question, Erin... what would you suggest?

The Seconds Chance Reads is a new fun idea we are trying; Allison (readage), our lovely group founder and Queen Snail, suggested it (thanks!), so I think we should let her and the group members chime in on suggested timeframes?

Do keep in mind we usually already have 3 suggested books active:
Book o' the Month (BOTM), a Quarterly Read, and a longer Yearly Read.

Of course these are just suggestions, and it's up to each Snail whether they wish to read any or all of 'em along with other Snails.

~~~~
My thoughts (not binding, let us know what you think!): (view spoiler)
Q: Shall we discuss the Second Chance books here, or should we start a new dedicated Folder, adding a new discussion topic for each winning book (every 2 to 3 months, estimated)?
I'd say a new folder for each book. I've got mine on reserve from the library.
I like the 60-90 day timeframe, especially since we won’t be starting a new one every month anyway.
Thanks for the review, Candace (and I had no idea the book was being developed for a TV series!)
I still need to read A Gentleman in Moscow 😂
It’s near the top of my list, but keeps getting bumped 😝
StarMan (thestarman) | 1898 comments A Gentleman in Moscow
Finally getting around to reading this book, which I (surprisingly) won in a GR giveaway. About 80% done.
It's definitely a change of pace for me, and I didn't expect to be thrilled...
I was wrong. It is very good -- if you enjoy slow-paced books, historical fiction, some verbal wit, and kids who steal scenes.
Starman, I am so glad that you like this, one of my favorites. I read it with a bookclub some time ago, and loved it. One of those rare 5+ stars that I would never have picked up myself.
I'm glad I won a copy of this book; otherwise I likely never would have bought one :)
Have you read any of Towles's other books? I put Rules of Civility on my to-read list.
