Wasn't my choice and wasn't very enthusiastic about this one. But my library had a beautiful edition and it's one of these books everyone thinks they know without having actually read them... So, I'll join this month.
I first read this for the pop songs ("Lucy in the Sky," "I am the Walrus," "Go ask Alice," etc.) in high school; then for the symbolic logic with the Martin Gardner annotated edition in college; but this time just for fun; and it didn't disappoint each time. I think its enduring, charming appeal is due to the impressionistic POV of a young girl's "growing pains" which makes us, as adults, realize what odd creatures we must seem to them.
