This is where we can talk about the Bible, verses in the Bible, and our walks with the Lord.

Psalm 37:7,8
(7)
"Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way because of man who bringeth wicked devices to the past"
(8)
"Cease from anger and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any
wise to do evil"
These two verses are about stress, and to me it's saying no matter what things WILL get better!!!

Those are so good, Emily!My life verse is, Matthew 5:16
"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father, who is in heaven."
1 Corinthians 1:27-28
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

Thank you! I have issues with wanting to get the glory for things that I do, and this really stuck out to me, and I kept seeing it over and over again, and it's been very helpful.I like those verses!
"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He (the Lord) who promised IS faithful"Hebrews 10:23 (nkjv)
I believe the KJV is the inspired and perfect word of God and new translations have obvious errors.
whats the difference between normal bibles?
I mean, cant you get the same info from them all?

@Mel basically newer versions come from a different Greek text so they hold some major differences some which undermine God. I’ve seen people get saved by newer versions and grow but it’s hard to get right theology with newer versions.
I don’t want to start an argument and I’m not trying to change anyone’s viewpoint I’m just trying to explain my side. I totally understand other sides and respect the decisions you all make personally based on your own individual convictions.Thx and God bless!
I enjoy discussion. I like to find out what people believe and have my mind changed.If one wanted to win a theological argument, would one defer to the KJV?
Oh my gooshlness.
Imma just-
Skirt outta here now.

So, when you translate something to a different language, there are going to be some differences. They are going to have to change little things, so that we can understand. Unless you go and learn Greek, Arabic, and Hebrew and read the Bible like that, there are going to be some differences. But not everyone can do that, and the Bible will always be inspired by God, no matter the translation. I mainly use ESV, but I like to read others. It gives you different words so that you can see the verse slightly differently.
KJV translators translated from the Textus Receptus while newer versions (excluding the NKJV) were translated from Antioch or Alexandrian texts which were corrupt
Satan uses small things to divide Gods children such as this. People can learn plenty of truth from newer versions but essentially newer versions undermine God such as taking out the trinity, taking away from the deity of God, etc.

I don't think other versions are bad. I use all kinds of versions, because they all are different so it gives a different perspective. But I memorize the KJV and that's what we use in my church kind of as a heritage sort of thing.
Joey wrote: "1 Corinthians 1:27-28But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

I LOVE these. First on the level they are usually taught in churches. Secondly because I have read the entire works of Plato and some other Greek philosophy and realize how God has such a brilliant rebuttal to their religion of philosophy (means love of wisdom.) This passage is the only one in the entire Bible that uses that particular Greek word for wisdom (sophia). NOTHING they could come up with could possibly compare with God's matchless Word!!!!!!!
It reminds me of when Paul was on Mars Hill in Acts 17 and got in trouble for breaking their law buy preaching about Who they thought was a new "god" but he brilliantly pointed out that they had something there for the "unknown god" and used that to speak the truth.
