Roxanne Shriver (roxannexshriver) I've decided that I want to come up with a completely different pen name for myself. I came up with "TK Selbach" when I was pretty little, and it's a bit lazy. The only reason I wanted to use my initials was because my middle name starts with K, just like JK Rowling.

I'm still trying to think of what I want to include in my pen name... all I have so far is "Roxanne", or at least some variation of it. I write pretty much any genre, but usually darker stuff. The book I'm working on right now is a dark-ish Urban Fantasy. And I write a lot of Horror short stories in my free time.

I'm not sure if I want my pen name to be spooky sounding or misleading though...

Roxanne Shriver (roxannexshriver) I'd like a last name that has some sort of dark meaning... I'm considering Roxanne Acerbi. It means "heartless" or "harsh" in Italian.

I've also come up with Roxanne Archer and Rox Lyrell on my own. I've gotten a vote for each name, so both suggestions are tied.

Roxanne Shriver (roxannexshriver) I've read online that authors should try to stay away from the beginning of the bookshelf, the end, and near famous authors/ (So no R or M names for sure.)

I'm taking off Acerbi from my list of ideas because it doesn't fit the first name at all. Besides, it's Italian and although it sounds cool, I don't have any Italian ancestors.

My last name is - however - German. So many I should have another German last name...? I'd like to stick with the L because that shelf is very popular.

I've also decided to stick with Roxanne, not a nickname. The reason why is because Roxanne is a unique name added to a common one (Rox + Anne). I'd like to have a last name that gives a similar impression.

Does anyone have any ideas that might fit this criteria? Otherwise, I plan to do some online research (again), and will be posting a whole new list of ideas.

(Roxanne Lyrell is still on the list, by the way.)

Dr. Andy Laberenz, Lafrenz, Landau, Langenberg, Lehrer, Leitzke, Lichtenberg, Loewe, and Lohrenz are a few last German last names I found. My favorites are Leitzke and Lichtenberg.

Roxanne Shriver (roxannexshriver) All good names, but I'm looking for more of names with meanings to them. Most of these names mean "from [city]".

Still, I might decide to use one of these. I really like Leitzke and Loewe. :)

Roxanne Shriver (roxannexshriver) Somebody suggested Roxanne Marx in another group, and I really like that one, for multiple reasons, so... I've decided that I'm going to go with that one. Thank you for your help everyone! And sorry I ended up not using any of the ones you guys suggested. If anyone else wants to use any of the names here, feel free to! :)
