Facebook, Big Brother... :o ;) Without doubt!
The only reason i suggest it is that it has a bit more scope for sharing ideas than simply just posting to a topic. I certainly do not trust nor like facebook itself. It is possible to use it as a counter propaganda tool though :P Most people use it to talk shit or say nothing much at all. I get people riled up when they ask me if i really have to keep making them hear any more about such and such injustice and that they would rather go back to worrying about the latest celebrity gossip. ;P

Either for selling info for business purposes and/or government databases.

I never put any personally identifying info in facebook. In fact i never put it anywhere on the net now, including on this site.

(to this sites credit and kudos, they do say:

We have currently not received any such warrants, and intend to resist any we do receive. " - however this does not protect you if the gov really wanted to get the info.)

To be honest, if i was a spook, id be looking to connect with as many people as possible on sites like goodreads - what to get a list of people reading "radical" or "terrorist" books... too easy :s

The government can all too easily request/pressure a site to give access to info. With no real personal info, all they have is yer IP address, which ye can get around by using proxies.

People who say, "but if you have nothing to hide..", don't have a clue about how fascism creeps up on a society suddenly to "appear".

My view is, knowing what is possible and has happened, ye cant be too paranoid or careful.
