One of my best friends recommended this series based off of my love for other similar series. I enjoyed the first two books, but then it just got so complicated and a little TOO paranormal in the last two books. The writing was really good, and I liked the friend group dynamic and Blue's family relationships. The only thing stopping my love for this series was the exponentially increasing intricacies of the paranormal activity going on in the books. This is one of the reasons I lost interest in The Vampire Diaries in season 4 - it just kept getting more and more intricate.
Maggie Stiefvater writes with such flow, poetry, and clarity, and I realized that one of my favorite book series when I was in middle school and early high school was written by her (The Shiver Trilogy). It makes sense that I loved The Shiver Trilogy because her writing is incredible!
