Which is better to read with in your opinion paperback or hardcover? Also, do you think reading on a tablet is better or reading with an actually book in your hand? I think that having the book in front of you, the old fashion way, is better and comfortable. What is your opinion?

Cupcakes & Machetes (hybridcreature) I'm perfectly comfortable with paperback or hard cover. I've been against ebooks since they came out however, I recently used my best friend's kindle to read a book and it wasn't half bad. I asked my fiance for a Kindle Fire for Christmas now because the way I see it is, I can get books for stupid cheap without leaving the house this winter. I live in Michigan and we tend to have some pretty brutal storms with lots of snow and ice. I will still always buy a book that I want to keep in my personal library though.

That is very interesting and thank you for sharing your opinion about those different types of books. Maybe one day I will get to try and read an ebook but for now, on to the 3D books.(regular books)

Dee | 56 comments Either paperback or hardcover is fine with me. I prefer actual books to e-readers, but I also have really enjoyed having my kindle. Like hybrid.creature said, it's nice being able to get books for really cheap, and it's convenient being able to buy a book right at home and have it immediately. (That part is especially handy when you're sick and just wanna lay around in bed all day, but you need a new book.) Another thing I like about the kindle is being able to download free samples of most books. I tend to do this if it is an author I haven't read anything from before and want to know if I'll even like their writing style before I commit to buying it.
As convenient as it is being able to get a book instantly on the kindle, nothing beats the fun of getting to go to an actual book store.

Alyssa (goodreadscomAlice_Skywalker) | 61 comments I agree with the bit about getting free samples of the novel, as well as getting to lie around lazily, and I also wanted to add that you can read in the dark with an e-reader (although it'll mess up your eyes so I don't recommend it). But I still enjoy a good old book compared to all this technology we have today; back in my day, we never had all this Nook and Kindle gobbledygook! *pulls an angry old person grimace*

Alyssa (goodreadscomAlice_Skywalker) | 61 comments I also like hardcover since they're more durable than a paperback. Especially if you need to lend out your book to a friend, then it's more likely to come back in one piece.

I agree that nothing beats the fun of getting a new book at an actual store!

I'd like to have hardcover on all my books! But for some reason I just don't like reading ebooks! I don't even have a kindle, but when I read an ebook, it just seemed weird! Also, I prefer hard cover cause soft covers don't go over all the way (if you know what I mean) so you have to hold it down, or it flies over the page! If you got that, you know why I like hard cover better!

I understand what you mean, Percy. Sometimes the old fashion way is better. Also, hardcover lasts longer since the front and back of the book is protected!

I prefer hard cover because of the way it feel compared to paperback. I do enjoy traditional books better than e-books, however on my kindle I can rent a free book every month and return it when ever I feel. I can only get a new one if I return the other first though.

Raegan Exactly!

Rhys (inkbottleburning) | 184 comments That depend on the book. I had a hard cover that came unbound. :(
But, that doesn't prevent me from liking them any less. :)
