I've read the book and also watch the Netflix series and in the show she dies from complications, I'm guessing because the baby is half umpire had something to do with it. Roman knows he is the father and keeps the baby although shows no affection toward it for some time. The baby remains alive. You should watch the show it's awesome.
While answering questions in his Twitter Joel de la Fuente wrote that Olivia ordered Pryce to kill Letha, which he did. When Olivia told Roman to remember, he got back his memories about raping Letha under Olivia's mind control, so he knows.
Scrabbles wrote: "While answering questions in his Twitter Joel de la Fuente wrote that Olivia ordered Pryce to kill Letha, which he did."That makes sense, really. These days a young, healthy woman dying of complications is possible, of course, but it's not very likely. Plus, it explains Pryce's refusal to bring her back--or to even try.

Does Roman know he is the father of the baby?
Does Roman kill the baby when he drinks from it or just drinks enough to keep the baby alive?
