Has anyone read Armageddon's Arrow?

I tried reading it about a month ago, and I just couldn't get into it. I know lots of folks who've read it and enjoyed it, so I suspect my dislike was just the headspace I was in (or maybe it just wasn't one for me.. it happens).

The plot felt thin and slow for me. It took a long time for things to happen. Normally if there is a lot of character dev in a book, I don't mind the main thread being a little bit slow. And while there was lots of character stuff, I didn't feel like it had a purpose. Or that the character stuff was repetitive of something that had already happened in this book.

In the past I've really enjoyed books by Dayton Ward, so I pushed through it longer than I probably would have if it was an author new to me. But about halfway through I had to put it down. :-(
