I held these prompts as you all told me you were behind in reading. As always, respond to as many of these prompts as you wish.

Part Two: Which two values did you select as being most important? By narrowing down to only two values, you take away the "feel-good words" and really set your priorities. How did these two values guide your leadership work? (Pages 187-188)

Part Three: Brown explains the crucial elements for trust and self-trust as BRAVING (boundaries, reliability, accountability, vault, integrity, nonjudgment, and generosity). She outlines that we tend to be less trusting of ourselves. Is this true for you? Which of the elements do you need to address? How does this impact your work as a leader and others' ability to trust you? (Pages 233-234)

Part Four:
1. Have you ever either encouraged someone to jump or pushed them without first ensuring that they know how to land? Does that build trust? Do you, yourself, know how to land? If someone doesn't have the skillset to get up, is he/she likely to risk falling? (Page 241)

2. Brown encourages readers to consider Joseph Campbell's words, "The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek." I will add that Campbell says a true hero/leader obtains the treasure/boon to share with others. Is this a requirement for leadership? Do you share your boon? Brown also says you should "Own the fear, find the cave, and write a new ending for yourself, for the people you are meant to serve and support, and for your culture. Choose courage over comfort. Choose whole hearts over armor. And choose the great adventure of being brave and afraid. At the exact same time." Respond to any or all of this. (Page 272)

Final thoughts: Thank you for being vulnerable and rumbling in the arena with me. What insight will you take away from this journey?
