While that may be true in this case, many users search by title, not ISBN when linking to a book, and librarians responding to a request how no way of knowing whether that is true.
I'm sorry, I don't understand. How can my request not have been unequivocally have been linked to the topic edition of this thread?ETA: OK, I think I understand what you mean. I have never, however, experienced anyone not simply assuming that the topic edition is one edition and not the book in general.
ETA2: That is in the three years I have been submitting several thousand requests for edition corrections and additions in this group.
