Name: TeshkaNickname: Tesh
Age: 2 Years, 4 Months
Gender: Female
Species: Spinosaurus
Personality: Unruly and ill tempered, Teshka has never been fond of others, be them reptilian, mammalian or human. This is most likely a consequence of her careless upbringing. The human that she was previously dependent on had no clue how to raise a spinosaurus and instead attempted to raise her as one would raise a human child. She grew contempt for small spaces and whenever one would let her outdoors, she would flee into the nearest woods. Often taking an entire team of raptors to track her down and bring her home. It has been only recently that Teshka was removed from the rather neglectful household, so her temper has gotten only slightly better. Though, she does snap on occasion.
History: As previously stated, Teshka's hatchling years weren't the best. At first she was fine with it, the toys spread about a bedroom and food given to her when she cried. Though, as her size increased and the need for open water boiled within her, Teshka began lashing out at her human caretakers. They attempted to build her an outdoor pen, one of which Teshka promptly broke through in an effort to free herself to the wild.
Eventually it was impossible to take her anywhere without an uproar of rebellion and discontent. The doctor would have to have her restrained in order to inspect her teeth and claws more often than not.
She had been removed from the care of those humans about a year ago. Their faces now a confusing blur in her mind, one she struggled to remember.
Still, though her care has been greatly improved, Teshka has her moments of rage and resistance.

So, based on your unfamiliarity with the series I have some feedback on this character. I think it can still work but with minor tweaks and improved understanding. In Dinotopia very few of the Carnivorous dinosaurs such as Spinosaurus live apart from the majority of the population. They are still civilized and have their own language and understanding but choose a more traditional way of living, which as far as I can tell fits quite well with your character. It would also explain why the human caretakers did not know how to care for a young Spinosaur. Just as a side note most of the meat-eaters that do live among humans (mostly Dromeasaurs) eat seafood as meat is not allowed in most Dinotopian society. In fact, upon further reflection, I don't think any Tweaks are necessary just background information. You are all set to go!
(If you want to get started I would be happy to create any kind of character you would like although I am tempted to create another Carnivorous dinosaur to kind of adopt Teshka and teach her the ways of the Rainy Basin.)

Thank you! I hope to gain more understanding of this series through roleplay and eventually from actually reading the books. If you would like, a character like that would really help me with Teshka's development!
Basic Information
Name: Occisor, “Oz” (Means “Killer” in latin.)
Species/Race: Utah Raptor
Gender: Male
Age: 6 years, 3 months
Occupation: Tracker, hunter (“When a saurian goes rogue, someone’s gotta track ‘em down. Just hope they don’t put up a fight.”)
Appearance Information
Physical Appearance:

Height: 2 Meters at the hips (6.3 Feet)
Weight: 483 Kilograms (1065 Pounds)
Length: 5.3 Meters (17.4 Feet)
Scars/Accessories: Oz has several slash scars and bite marks on his body, and the tip of his tail is bent, and his right eye is cloudy. These are from previous battles Oz fought while in the hands of the fighting ring.
Clothing: N/A, he’s not a fan of fabric, it reminds him too much of his captors’ ropes.
Notable Features: Occisor’s right eye is cloudy. While not totally blind in that eye, he does have difficulty seeing details on that side of him.
Psychological
Personality: True to his name, Oz has a tendency towards violence. He knows little else besides battle, and gets extremely restless whenever things have been quiet for too long. Despite his violent tendencies, he is quite intelligent, like all raptors. He puts his skills and his brain to use by tracking down rogues and enforcing laws, but how he deals with rogues and criminals often gets him into trouble.
Born in a cage and raised in the arena, Oz’s instincts refuse to let him relax. A threat could be around any corner, a fight could occur anywhere. Large towns are hell for the raptor, the streets are too crowded and the rules too restrictive, his every instinct rebells against the order of a city, nd he always causes trouble when in them.
Likes:
Fighting (It’s all he knows. He understands battle more than he understands the human he is partners with.)
Dislikes:
Fish (Raised on the corpses of his foes, fish is a bizzare tasting food that he doesn’t understand.)
Fears:
Cloth
Metal
Cages
Mental/Emotional Features of Note:
Oz has severe emotional trauma and PTSD from his experiences at the hands of his captors. Unfamiliar smells set him on edge, and the smell of blood makes him see red. He is clausterphobic and distrustful to the point where he might not trust you even if you took an arrow for him.
Historical and Miscellaneous
Bio: Oz was raised in an underground fighting ring. Within days of his hatching, his captors forced him to kill his siblings as they hatched for no reason other than he was first and they were late. After that, Oz’s life became a constant fight for survival. One Utahraptor without a pack and no positive relationships except with the hole in the roof of his pen where food was dropped through. If he was fed at all. He only got to eat if he killed his opponent, and was beaten if he wasn’t able to fight the next day.
Of course he came to hate things. He earned the moniker Occisor as the list of his victims grew. Other “trainers” feared to send their fighters into the ring with "Killer" for fear of losing both money and their dinosaur to the raptor’s fury. Combat was all he knew. If he didn’t kill his opponent he himself would die, and that was unacceptable.
And then the underground saurian fighting ring was discovered. The fighting saurians were unleashed upon the enforcers arriving to liberate them, all except for Oz, who’s cage did not open. By the time the compound was cleared and Oz found, he was half dead from starvation and irritable from infection of his injuries, and still he snapped his jaws at his would-be rescuers. It seemed that Oz was going to die, and he’d be damned if he was going down without a fight!
And then she showed up. Rather than a weapon or a rope, she held food. An enforcer without malice for this raptor who so visibly held malice for all others. It was her idea to rehabilitate Oz rather than end him, and she stepped into the role of his caretaker until he was deemed sound to freely walk dinotopia.

I'll admit I am wary of saying yes mostly because of the fighting ring, as it is unlikely to happen here, but I'll allow it as some creative license you are good to go!

yeah, I thought that might be a bit dicey, considering the traditionally peaceful atmosphere. But the continent is a big place and it was demonstrated in book 2 that a-holes do exist, so I figured why not?

Yeah, you could argue the fighting ring came from beginnings like the pirates in Dinotopia Lost.

Name: Challenger
Age: 42
Gender: Male
Species: Giganotosaurus
Personality: Challenger is an aggressive, hot-tempered, dominating figure. He can be rough around the edges but ultimately sports a heart of gold. Tending to be bellicose, boastful, and extremely Stubborn. Challenger prefers to live on his own and as one of the largest inhabitants of the Rainy Basin he is accustomed to getting his way.
History: Challenger led a fairly normal life for a Giganotosaurus. He grew up with his parents in the Rainy Basin. His mother, PrettyKill, was raised within the Rainy Basin, but, his father was raised by a human family who gave him the name Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez and taught him to speak several different Saurian languages as well as the common Dinotopian spoken by them. Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez passed on these languages to Challenger who as an adult is frequently used as a way to communicate with the residents of the Rainy Basin by the more "Civilized" Dinotopians. This is, of course, something he'd prefer they wouldn't do, but he does enjoy the free meals that come along with it. He follows just like his ancestors the traditional path choosing to live in the forest and of the land and offerings of others rather than in the cities or farms of Dinotopia.

Name: Thag
Age: 75
Gender: Male
Species: Stegosaurus
Personality: Patient beyond his advanced age and resilient. Thag can overcome most challenges by simply waiting for them to be over. He is never quick to action but is not above the use of self-defense when it is needed. Generally happy and unrushed.
History: Thag grew up in Sauropolis with his Mother and Father. They would travel throughout Dinotopia because Thags father was a Stegosaurian Elder and much sought after for advice. Thag learned much from his time with his father and when he was of age left to study with a hermit in the Forbidden Mountains. The hermit was a Deinonychus that insisted that Thag learn a modified form of Tai-Chi. He mastered this and the art of meditation under the hermit's tutelage returning to the citizens of Dinotopia after many years living apart. He never settled down and wanders throughout seeking knowledge and sharing what he knows.
