Hi all- I am new to participating in groups here, and have been in a bit of a book funk. I am wondering where you all get book recommendations? I have been pretty disappointed with general lists, etc but with summer approaching I want to get some good titles on my kindle! I love to read! Thanks for your help!

Most of the books I put on my tbr come from reading the reviews of friends here on Goodreads. Start by looking through those posted in this group. Your tbr will expand in no time. Happy reading!
I found that a lot of book recommended or set as best seller not necessary I like or enjoyed. However while age may be significant influence on writing you find interesting and story type, the good writer will make you like story even if it marked for young adults. However here, my book shelf for " to read "is not always refection that I really want to read, however my rating on books I did read and enjoyed is a better area I would look into.
Find a book you really loved in the past see who rated same book with top points and see what else they marked as much that may be a good way to find good books.
Also look at public library books that have largest number of holds.
Hi Kristen, I moved this thread to the more appropriate folder "Looking For Recommendations" since it's not really a question about the group itself.
I would be happy to recommend some small press books for you! Check out this list, which I pulled together for books I was really looking forward to earlier this year. I've read a good chunk of them and they were all pretty awesome!

In 2010 I started a readers advisory group which is still going strong. We meet monthly and I wanted the experience more often so two years ago I started a second group. While we read whatever we want, and describe it to the group, occasionally many group members, impressed by a description might go on to read the same book.Doesn’t stop us from reporting on it again. We always involve food provided by whoever is hosting the gathering. There is much laughter and a ton of discussion on many topics.
I highly recommend this book THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE WONE by Len Stage. It is a fascinating tale of an archaeological discovery that unleashes unpredicted powers on the world. It follows Lon, a small-town handyman, and his new acquaintances as this seemingly subtle discovery changes their lives forever. Here is the link of the book: https://www.lenstagebooks.com/book-th...
I can recommend you read this book "One Caregiver’s Journey by Eleanor Gaccetta". This book heartfully captures the moments between caregiver and patient, between daughter and mother. It is also an insightful book that digs deeper into caregiving and provides practical suggestions that anyone can use to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their loved one.You can check the book here: https://www.onecaregiversjourney.com/...
Do you love poetry? I can recommend Perfect Flaws by Tim Segrest. He has many amazing books, you can check it here: https://www.timsegrestauthor.com/book...
