2. Ciszek passed through a terrible "dark night of the soul," after which came "conversion," learning to discover God's will in every situation and bending every effort to do what must be done. Are we aware that this is what "salvation" means, and that every one of us must do this to be saved?

Jill A. | 921 comments I found this very striking. He discovered that "God's will" isn't something out there in the future toward which we choose to move (or not) but God's Real Presence in this moment, saying a loving yes to whatever He is offering right now.

And failing. And then perhaps beginning to tease out the difference between wanting to do God's will, because it is God's will and wanting my will to be conformed to God's will.
