Shaken not stirred: author named James or the letters BOND in title or #7 in a series:
I have a bad feeling about this: Sci-fi mpg, or a book with a hairy pet as mans best friend or a book about a pilot
Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn: southern fiction mpg or civil war mpg
Go ahead, make my day: book about a police officer or SUDDEN IMPACT in title or first letter of title words.
Hast la vista baby: you could do something fun with TERMINATOR or ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER

Grinch: green cover
Ebenezer Scrooge: book with ghosts
Danny Ocean from Ocean 11, Ocean 12, Ocean 13: true crime or about a heist,
Darth Vader: a book with a dad as a main character

I like those list ideas

Read a book set in the time of the American Revolution
Read a book the has one of these colors in the title Red, White or Blue.
Read a book where the author's initials are found in INDEPENDENCE

Read a book with a frozen treat on the cover (popsicles, ice cream, snow cones, slushies, etc.).
Family reunions- Read a book by an author who has the same name as your mother, father, grandparents, or a sibling.
Summer reading- Read a book that depicts on its cover a comfortable spot to sit and read a book.

Read a book with Travel as the MPG
Read a book with a beach or body of water (ocean, river, lake) on the cover
Rogues can make fun reading:

Read a book with one of these words in the title: Spy, Spies, Spying, Assassin, Assassins, Assassination, Pirate, Pirates, Pirating, Thief, Thieves, Thieving, Liar, Liars, Lies, Lying, Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggle, Smuggles, Rogue, Rogues, Roguish.
While it's summer on one side of the world, it's winter on the other:
Read a book with a picture of the sun OR a picture of snow on the cover
Read a book with one of these words in the title: Hot, Summer, Cold, Winter

Shaken not stirred: author named James or the letters BOND in title or #7 in a series:

I like these ideas!

ETA: Since the bonus theme is actually "rogues" maybe we should list all three and the task is the cover has to contain at least two of those elements in red (title and an object, for example).

1) travel and visit family and friends: For me that means travel to Seattle to visit my grandbaby, Washington DC where my son lives, visit Belgium to see my parents, brothers and sisters there. Book set at least 50% in one of those places.
2) travel and explore archaeological sites - my husband and I can spend from opening to closing time on a single site: an archaeological site or historical site ( at least 1,000 years old) on the cover.
3) When it rains, the visit museums and art galleries: work of art on cover. Or use famous art piece titles for either author or title initials.
4) play tennis: book by female author initials in TENNIS or athlete on cover

This list was used in the Spring Challenge. I'd rather see a new list, if necessary.

I like this one.

Read a book that takes place in one of the states mentioned in 5 Flyover States That Deserve a Closer Look : Nebraska, Kansas, North Dakota, Missouri, or Arkansas.
Books mentioned in this topic
Dead and Alive (other topics)The Open and Shut Case (other topics)
Up the Down Staircase (other topics)
Highs, Lows, and Plateaus: A Path to Recovery from Stroke (other topics)
Fire and Ice (other topics)
The bonus theme is Characters: Rogues
As in past challenges, some tasks may revolve around the seasonal theme of summer. Others may reflect the bonus theme. Other tasks may have nothing to do with either of these themes, they’re just fun ideas for unique reading challenges.
Feel free to post as many ideas as you can come up with. Don't worry about repeating what another player might have already suggested. The more ideas, the better!
The moderators will draw from these ideas as well as their own to create the 5, 10, and 15 point tasks. This thread will be open for ideas until May 16. Summer tasks will begin to be posted onMay 18. We look forward to seeing what you come up with!
