so I didn't get as much reading done as I would have liked... I just finished Part 1 that's about 120 pages
I really needed a few chapters to get into the story again but the last two chapters really had me excited
The last time we talked you said you read up to chapter 3 so what did you think of the first fight scene? I think it was done really well
I think the only real negative comment I have is that Sazeds chapter were so boring. Which is a pity since I loved him in The Final Empire

Ok, so what do you think?

Last week was a really hard week for me... so much life stuff going on so I didn't get chance to read as much as I wanted.
I got up to page 50, and yeah that fight scene was amazing. I love the way Brandon Sanderson writes fight scenes. In other authors' books I get lost through the fights but I'm with Sanderson all the way!
i'm gonna aim to finish part 1 and maybe part 2 this week so i'll be up to date!

Don't worry, I didn't have time to read until Sunday and this week is starting to get full as well.

Thanks so much! Things are getting better - now there's just upcoming assessment tests which I only hope I can find enough time to study for!

I'm up to page 90 (view spoiler)[ It was so funny to see Spook all grown up - he was my favourite in the first book😁
Elend I'm not too sure about.... I may be paranoid but I'm sUSpICioUS - I have no idea why, I mean there's like a 0.19% chance that he's gonna turn antagonist, but after reading a couple of Sanderson's other books (i.e. Snapshot) I don't trust aNYONE😂🕵️‍♂️ Elend and the kandra hMMM. Okay I'm jumping to very unlikely conclusions now...

Also Marsh.... has he been brainwashed or something? The next chapter will probably answer that tho.... (hide spoiler)]

I am now somewhere around page 180. Marsh definitely acts in a strange way, but the guy is made out of spikes now... btw I am super curious about inquisitors

Oh no!!! That is one big book so I hope you can make it!
I couldn't read as much as I wanted... I am up to chapter 19 and still like what's going on.
(view spoiler)[Chapter 18... Zane is one creepy stalker dude... the whole family Venture is dysfunctional. With that in mind, Elend seems quite adjusted. Btw does it bother you Vin not cutting her hair or is it just me? Maybe I have a hang-up with men dictating how a woman should wear her hair! But that really bothered me, especially because the scene with Staff and his woman servant/mistress followed (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ Zane is creepy... especially with his insanity voice-thing he calls God. I'm interested to see what's gonna happen to him though - he's quite a complex character...
I really wanted Vin to cut her hair - it's what kinda defines her from other book characters...
I don't really get why that scene with convo about Vin's hair cutting was necessary... It didn't get me fired up that much because of Elend's way of saying it (i.e "I think it looks prettier longer". If it were "Don't cut your hair darling, I like it longer" then I would definitely be at a loss)
But Straff omg I was fuming after that chapter!! The women aren't treated any better than dogs - it made me sick. This dude right here, needs to die. (hide spoiler)]

OreSeur - I was suspicious of him at the start... my comment (#6) vaguely shows my feelings but I thought Elend was in on it too. Which would be why he wanted the kandra always by her.
I didn't want it to be him in the end though (OreSeur that is) because he was honestly my favourite!
But I love that he made that act of defiance - I really hope he comes back in the next book!!

Zane was messed up. In the end, when "god" said to him "you know funny thing, you're not insane after all" I was left going whaaat? He's not insane? Are you joking. If he's not got something wrong with him I'm the queen of England.
And ouch - stabbing her in the breast while he kisses her. what the hell man. Was that a type of fetish because when it turned out that Straff's mistress was drugging him, Straff notices Zane's scars on hers too🤢

And then Elend and Vin's wedddiing-ish-kinda-thing! I honestly didn't feel any chemistry between them but it was nice to see their romance drama all wrap up.

And that battle at the end!!! I love Sanderson's action scenes -they're just amazing!
And the twist with the Well at the end😱😱

I am halfway through and loving it. I think I enjoy this book more than the first and I didn't think I would. But I've only read 50% so what do I know...
Can't wait to discuss spoilers!
Life is a little bit busier than I expected but I think I can be finished no later than by the end of next week.

Sorry it took me so long!! I have crazy much to do at the moment and it doesn't help that I always battle with a reading slump with these books. Don't know why but either I can't keep my hands off them or a moment later I can't read more than 10 pages...

Zane was great! And I really want to know who or what that is, but I am sure Marsh is connected somehow and that thing that was set free too. Because when Marsh confronts Sazed he says I have to kill you just like Zane. With the stabbing I think that has to do with the voice as well... but I really didn't notice the parallel up until now...

I really liked the wedding, but only because I liked the relationship from The Final Empire Up until to that scene they only shared I about 5 scenes and most of them were spent discussing either the Deepness or something political. The Drama was a little bit out of thin air for me, but I can see what Sanderson wanted to do and for Vin's growth I can appreciate it!

Thank you, too! It was so nice to share my thoughts with you maybe if you are up to it we could try for The Hero of Ages as well. But don't worry I will need a break and maybe some light romance novels for my digestion 😉

Nah don't worry about it! I don't know how I finished it so fast - it usually takes me ages with these sorts of books!
My problem with the romance was probably because I couldn't really remember it in the last book...
Yes, that'd be great, but yes, we definitely need a break first! Something about finishing these books always makes me retreat back to easy reads!
