Let's start out with some initial thoughts about chapters 1-3. Does anyone have any ideas about whether or not they will prefer this to Uprooted or not?

Cyndi (pickyprincess) I love that Jewish traditions were brought into the story. It blends fairy tale and historical fiction really well.

Yes, I liked that element as well. I feel like this one is written more in the traditional fairytale style verses Uprooted. I feel more distanced from the characters but more entranced by the writing. So far, I am enjoying it!

Cyndi (pickyprincess) I get what your saying. I don't identify with any of the characters, but I love the change of POV! I will say though, it is a little hard to follow who is who when listening to the audiobook.

I like the different POVs too but can see how that might be confusing on the audiobook. It is not like typical POV changes. It seems to happen both at new chapters and within chapters.

Lilly | 17 comments Hi all,
I am so behind on the group read but I intend to recover in the next days! I plan to listen to the audiobook, but I m a little worried since Cindy mentioned it's hard to follow the change in POVs.

I will come back tomorrow or on Sunday :)

Hi Lilly,
I’m feeling a little slow myself this time. Glad to have you back! Looking forward to hearing from you.

Jody | 13 comments Hi everyone. Sorry to say I'm very late to the party for this read. Just basically getting started but so far so good. I'm reading the book on kindle on library's Overdrive app. Unfortunately my loan will expire in about a week and I have my doubts that I'll finish by then. Since there is a waitlist I can't renew it. The audiobook is available at present. I'm wondering if those of you reading on audiobook would recommend I try it. I typically only read nonfiction on audio. I finished the last few chapters of Uprooted on audio and struggled to get through it. I'd appreciate your thoughts.
