Young Adult romance is a category of young adult fiction that has a romantic relationship as its core. Books can be set in a contemporary or paranormal world. The genre is marked by the emotional, evocative voice of young adult books. It's usually written in the first person point of view. The genre rose to popularity in the 1980s, when a Sweet Valley High book hit the New York Times bestseller list.

There is significant overlap between subgenres in young adult fiction, and stories often incorporate elements of two, even three, subgenres.

I love romance books. If I book dosen't have romance then I most likely won't read it.
