Stepping out of camp, Storm took a couple paces into the territory before stopping, turning hes head around and waiting for the others to follow suit.
Frosted Whisker purred as she hopped away from camp and stroked a paw down Storm's flank and ran back to where Ice was. She crouched playfully and her gaze shot this way and that
Hiding the quick smile that had escaped and emerged onto his expression, Storm huffed. "Frost, you know we have to hunt at the moment. It isn't time to-" and he raced over and tackled his sister, rolling around on the ground. Sometimes it was just to hard to not have fun once in awhile.
Ice's gaze was shocked, he had never seen his brother do something like this before. Maybe when they were cubs, but the playfulness was lost in his brother when he became a Learner. Ice gave Leaf a stare, as if to say 'Wait, what is happening?'.
Ice nodded his head in aggreement. He flicked his tail as a signal to follow at Leaf and headed off into the thick grass.
((Ignore other post))Frosted Whisker laughed and pawed at her brothers chest playfully
"Finally! Your actually being fun." She teased and whipped a paw over his nose gently
Leaf hurriedly followed, padding briskly after him as not to alert the two siblings. "Okay, what was that!?" She said.
Storm's passive look was gone for the moment, and he was opened up for the first time in awhile. "I wouldn't call it fun. Fun is where you...well, it is where you have fun. And I am most definitely not having fun," Storm said sarcastically. He felt like he could open up around his sister and not worry about the duties of being Leader.
Ice shook his head, pondering. "I really don't know. I mean, Storm never acts this way, but then again he has been cooped up and bored since becoming Leader. Maybe even a little grouchy at that! Maybe he just needed some fun," Ice shrugged.
"I know. He hasn't acted accordingly since he was a cub!" Ice stated, peering through the grass at his sister and brother.
Frosted Whisker laughed and tried to push her brother off but he was too heavy"You've grown since we were cubs." She laughed and pawed at his chin
"Well, duh," Storm laughed, hopping off. He shook the dust out of his pelt and tried to regain a passive look, but was not successful. Instead he wanted to tackle his sister again, it had felt so much different than being in control and fretting over his Tribe the whole day. He could actually have fun.
Frosted Whisker got up and stood by his side"Sister and brother, leader and successor!" She announced and laughed as she brushed pelts with her brother
"Yeah, yeah. I'm not going all soft now, though!" Storm growled playfully. He looked around, noticing for the first time that Ice and Leaf weren't with them. "Well, looks like we have to go and find our dear brother and Leaf."
Frosted Whisker laughed"But your fur is soft." She joked and scented the air. She smelt a herd of... Something..
"Do you smell that?" She murmured to Storm
"Hm? Smell what?" Storm raised his nose to scent the breeze. He couldn't detect anything. "I don't smell anything."
"It's a whole lot of something..." Frosted Whisker murmured "I can't tell what though." The scent blew straight into her face as she opened her jaws to scent the animal
"Maybe a heard of deer?" Storm suggested. "Or it could be a heard of rouges," he snickered at his own comment.
Ice nodded, agreeing with Leaf as he emerged from nearby.
Frosted Whisker muttered something and dropped into a hunter's crouch, laying low under he grass to hide herself. She looked around the grassland in wonder
"Maybe, but we better be quite if we have any chance at catching one. Leaf and Ice, head around that way," Storm motioned with his tail across the opposite side the smell was coming from. "That way you can attack from behind or front, and Frost and I will attack from the side."
Ice nodded, slinking off low to the ground, his long belly fur brushing the ground. He took care to not step on anything that may alert the prey, and moved his legs accordingly.
Frosted Whisker nodded and slipped closer to the ground, slowly and carefully stalking the way that Storm had pointed them to. She kept her jaws open to detect any signs of fear in the animals.
His head still invisible to the prey ahead, Storm caught a glimpse of what they were stalking. Gazelle. Perfect. He thought.
Frosted Whisker peered out to watch the prey and waited for the signal to attack from Storm. She let her paws set into place and felt the cool dirt form around her paws.
Storm looked over at Frost to make sure she was ready before giving the signal. Frost and Storm would race out, chasing the heard directly into the other pair of tigers waiting for them.
Storm waited for Frost to look back at him, for her to tell him she was ready.
