Oh wow! This is an unexpected beginning. I feel like the wife/mother is scattered and unfocused. What was she thinking? She had one job. Her disappointment in her daughter Mary seems to be overriding good judgement and common sense. Pak seems a little “carnival barker” to me. Good start! I like it.

Soo many questions after this intro. Pak seems untrustworthy. I’m not sure about him.
