Aside from the fact that this killer was really creepy, I really loved this story. I thought Carina & Nick were a great match and hope to see more of them.
I liked this book and I have the other two waiting for me. I had to exert some restraint to keep from beginning ahead of time.
I enjoyed it, too, and liked the characters. The mystery was challenging and I liked the procedurals. Good start!
I really enjoyed this one! Well-written, great characters, and an intriguing plotline.
I will mention the scene where Nick is rescuing Maggie's sister (momentarily forgotten name). His overwhelming fear of being unable to save someone else and then after it all goes down, him covering her & jerking off the gag and prying her lips open...just a good, well-written, telling scene.
Also - Carina's fear of not saving the 9 year old held hostage by Brandon. She hadn't had a chance to save Justin, she HAD to save this little boy.
Great job by the author bringing things full circle for both characters.

I'll add that I "assumed" these 3 books all featured Carina & Nick as the main characters, but in looking at book 2, See No Evil, I see that's not the case. It disappoints me just a bit, but I have faith that the author knows best and I will love the characters just as much. :)

Oh, those are great points, Sandra! That kid was Carina’s nephew and she was not going to let him get hurt. And that scene with Nick? Riveting.

These books were written back during that time when trilogies featured different couples connected by either setting, biological relationship or friendship ala Nora Roberts. I was prepared for someone new.

Oh! I see! Just hadn't thought about that. Thx, Jonetta!
