Bralnica discussion

Greetings! I'm working on a story set in Slovenia that will be part of a new novel I'm working on. To prepare myself, I'd like to read several fiction and/or non-fiction works (in English or Dutch) that offer insight into Slovenian history and contemporary Slovenian society. I've done some online research and Pahor and Kovacic sound interesting, but I'd much prefer to get advice/suggestions from active Slovenian readers like yourselves.
