Hi Team, checking in! I didn't want to take the first spot in case we need that to post some sort of tracking info, so I reserved it and can update it with whatever we need.
This is my first time ever playing Bingo so I'd prefer not to be captain. I'm coming up blank for a clever three-related team name :( .
Possible selections:
Beartown - Sports, Male Author, Location not USA, Part of a Series
Shadow of the Storm - Pregnancy/Child, Set in the Past or Future, Part of a Series

Greetings! I've been playing Bingo for years! I love it so much that I am a co-moderator on a Cozy Mystery Bingo group. This one will have me reading outside my comfort zone. I look forward to meeting everyone.
Hi Moondance, glad we have some experience on the team! :) I used to read mainly cozy mysteries for years! Now I've switched over to fantasy but I still get a cozy in every now and then. I love the covers like this one that's one of my current library loans

I've done bingo before but not with this version. I'm excited to start and a few of these will be a stretch for me. What shelf are people most and least excited for?I think we should be named "Fish and Visitors"
I'm in Michigan, so I'm on Eastern Time as well.
Hi Lexi! I'm looking forward to Goodreads Choice Nominees as there are a lot of those that I've been wanting to read.
Any reason behind the name Fish and Visitors? Is that from a book?

Rabid Booklovers
Runners of Coffee

Oh wow, India, cool! My husband has been in Japan for the last 10 days so it has been interesting to hear about his interactions with the people there. I don't know anyone who has been to India so that would be interesting to hear about!

I like Rabid Booklovers but I'm okay with Fish and Visitors too to stick with the 3 theme.
I am doing research this summer, and I have never been in India for so long before. Let's see what the other three think on names.

Hi everyone. I've played Bingo before but I think maybe with another group. Or maybe this one, I can't remember. I'm in Iowa which is Central time. I cannot captain, unfortunately. My RL always interferes with that much of a commitment. My mom had open heart surgery the second of this month and we have 3 rehab appointments every week in addition to one doctor's visit as well so my online time is short. Between helping my mom and my full time job I tend to be pretty quiet in my groups. I'm very laid back though and will go along with the majority when it comes to our group game. Although I do like Rabid Booklovers.
Oh wow. Just now checking in. I like Rabid Booklovers but am also drawn to Fish & Visitors. Not sure that helps... ??? I live in northwestern Illinois, so one time zone west of most of y'alls. If we need 3 names for a team, why not Rabid Book Lovers?

Hi Everyone,... checking in and saying hi
I'm a challenge junkie, so I have played some type of Bingo, many times.
I like Rabid Booklovers, as well.
Fish & Visitors - Nope
I live outside of Chicago and will read most anything, but partial to romance. I'm looking forward to seeing what you read.

Hi Sunshine! I think that is all of us checking in. I'm interested in seeing what everyone reads as well. Maybe I'll find a new genre that I like.
I tend to read mysteries as a default but enjoy fiction, history, biography, historical fiction, some fantasy, and YA too. I've never played bingo so not entirely sure how this goes. When it starts do we start with the free square, or is a shelf picked that we need to read a book for?
Rabid Booklovers seems to have won for our name. Did someone want to be captain? I saw a few people who could not. Everyone has checked in as well.

Hi Christina, Erica, and Sunshine!
No on me for captain but I’m looking forward to getting started tomorrow.
The only categories that are out of my wheelhouse are sports and disability so it’ll be interesting to read books in those areas. 🧐

Moondance, it looks like no one else wants to be captain. I can be backup if there are periods where you need help.
Lexi wrote: "Moondance, it looks like no one else wants to be captain. I can be backup if there are periods where you need help."Thank you, Lexi!
I'll start a tracking thread for us.
Talia wrote: "Hi Christina, Erica, and Sunshine! No on me for captain but I’m looking forward to getting started tomorrow.

Hi Talia. The good thing about the categories is we can use a book that someone has shelved as that category as well. This will help me out in those categories you mentioned as well. I have some romance books that are bound to be shelved "sports". The Non-fiction one might be a little more difficult for me though.
Thank you Moondance for being our captain. And thanks to Lexi for volunteering to back her up. I can't wait for the game to start!
Is everyone looking forward to shelf call tomorrow? I haven't decide my Free Space yet. I have tons of freebies on my tablet. I'll see what strikes my fancy tomorrow.
I read a lot of library books so I was going to read an ebook from my library. I assume that counts?
I have a pile of library books waiting for me to choose one for the free space.
Of course the Historical book I think I would like to read is over 1000 pages! I am going away for a retreat this weekend so I guess it would be as good as time as any to read it.
For Historical I'm debating between
1139 pages and
500+pages. Both are by Margaret George who is my all time favorite historical writer.
