Gracie Baines | 4 comments so, it is about a young girl in a school. it is based in a dystopian world. all the girls in the school are not allowed names and instead go by nick names such as dish soap, beauty, stench etc. they all either belong to x, y or z year groups. the oldest girls were in charge of disciplining the younger girls. the main character is from the middle year group and always gets into trouble for telling stories and inspiring other students. the commander of the school was a horrid man who treated all of the students horribly but was more lenient on the main character. they are treated cruelly and don't actually learn anything in the school, the school is just a cover for them to do the cities chores and work. the main girl has only 3 possessions. one is a locket with a picture of her and her mother, but she can't remember her parents. when the girl was young, she lived with her aunt because her father was a famous re

Fearless by Tim Lott.

The smartly painted exterior of the City Community Faith School hides a disturbing secret. Behind its walls, 1000 girls are forced to labour in the city's laundry, separated from their families and deprived of their freedom. One of these girls is Little Fearless who never gives up hope that one day she will be rescued.

Readers' comments:
- The girls are deprived of their birth name and instead are addressed by numbers or nicknames.
- Outsiders believe it to be a school, but really it's a prison. The girls are not called by their names, but are given numbers. Consequently they make up nicknames for each other in correspondence to their personality.
