There’s an audio book called The Baron in the Trees by Italo Calvino on sale today for $2.95 on Audible.com. Looks like an interesting nature themed fiction. I’m going to get as the idea of living in the trees sounds fun.

Thank you Sarah- I am very interested in this author, and I am not familiar with this work. I'll go look now.
It looked really interesting and a bargain as well. I figured some of the members of this group might be interested. I’m reading A Walk in the Woods again which is making want to go exploring. I’ve got a real craving for nature living in a brownstone without a yard available to me. I even got a membership to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens so I can go anytime, but of course it’s rained for my week of vacation and for the last two weeks as well. We’ve really had a lot of rain here so at least all the reservoirs are full but a little more sunshine would be nice. My block and the next block over are participating in the the most beautiful block in Brooklyn contest sponsored by the BBG and all the flowers that everyone has put out are gorgeous. I’ve got even planted a couple of boxes of unusual petunias on the fence outside but we don’t get much sun at all out front on the stairs/stoop.
Is anyone else reading Orion Magazine? They included this disturbing article a while back in which the author claims that the only way to restore ecological balance is the total collapse of industrial society.
