My Story discussion

I have known about Elizabeth Smart’s story about being kidnapped for a while now, and when I learned she had written a book about her experiences, I knew I had to read it. I have watched plenty of videos and even watched a movie about what happened to her, yet nothing quite had the same impact on me as this book did. If you are interested in stories like these, then I highly suggest this book. Elizabeth can show you her perspective during her journey without blurring any lines, and this made for a very emotional (yet incredible) read. I have personally never read any book such as this one, considering that nonfiction has never been my forte, yet this book exceeded all expectations and broke a lot of boundaries for me. If you are interested in a book that does not sugar coat anything, is raw, and is a true crime story, then I highly recommend this book.
