Hey guys! A fun idea Cordelianne came up with... that is we do the summer reading challenges! (This was from the Goodreads blog post which I'll link below)
Choose whether you want to go with Beginners or you could do both or even mix up the challenges, totally up to you.
Make a comment with the challenges you've chosen to complete and edited it over this summer!

For Beginners:

Good as gold: Read a book that won a Goodreads Choice Award.
The book is better: Read a book being adapted for TV or film this year.
Short & sweet: Read a book with less than 100 pages (or a book you can finish in one sitting).
On the bandwagon: Read one of the most read books right now on Goodreads.
Actually want to read: Read a book that's been on your Want to Read shelf for more than a year.
Not from around here: Read a book set in a different culture from your own.
In the friend zone: Read a book that a friend has recommended.
It takes two: Read a coauthored book.
Wheel of format: Read a book in a format that you don’t normally read in (a graphic novel, poetry, a play, an audiobook, etc.).
New voices: Read a debut novel.
Past love: Reread a book you loved when you were younger.
Armchair traveler: Read a book set in a destination you want to visit.

Expert-Level Additions:

Stay awhile: Read a book with more than 500 pages.
Stranger than fiction: Read a nonfiction book published this year.
Tongue-tied: Read a translated book.
No place like home: Read a book that appears in your Goodreads newsfeed.
Continental drift: Read a book set on every continent.
Genre explorer: Read a book from a genre you've never read before.
Reading roulette: Read the third book you see on your Want to Read shelf.
Primary reading: Read a book with a number or color in the title.
Back to school: Read a book about a subject you don't know much about.

This readathon started on the blog post on May 20th so any books you read from then can count in the challenges. The readathon will end on August 20th.

Check out the Goodreads original blog post - they add links to lists of books for inspiration on most of the reading challenges!

Since I got off to a bad start, I'm going to take seriously the challenges and knock off some to give my ill self a break.

Short & sweet: Animal Farm
On the bandwagon: A Curse So Dark and Lonely
In the Friend-Zone: Mary Was Her Life: The Story of Maria Teresa Quevedo
Past love: The Fellowship of the Ring
Stay awhile: The Well of Ascension
Genre explorer: Utopia
Primary reading: Daisy Jones & The Six

I'm making my own rule that if I feel like adding more challenges I can but I'm not allowed to now change from the challenges I've set. Hope my busy and ill summer won't prevent me from winning the challenge!🤞

I'm about halfway into Emma - I've just lost my physical copy so I'm listening to it with an audiobook. The only thing is, the narrator's voice is definitely not how I picture the characters' - I've gotta find my actual book, or even buy a new one - I really do love it so far!

It is a pity the audio book is not very nice, but glad you like it so far!

Same I started reading les miserables and since that book is quite hard to read and more than 1300 pages I did not read that many books this summer. So I also lost track of this challenge sadly..

I was as well, but so far it is pretty good, but I am only halfway yet.

Ruby | 36 comments So I have to admit that I really forgot about the challenge... :( I wanted to update my tbr a few days after accepting the challenge and then life got in the way.
So sorry guys!!
But I am super happy with my reading. Especially since I tought that I wouldn't have that much time.
I got a lot done, almost none of the books where on my immediate tbr but who cares! I had so much fun with so many of them. It spaned my whole palette from some sappy romance to YA and Fantasy. It was a great reading summer!

I am so sorry to hear you've been ill! I hope nothing too serious! I had a run-in with a very nasty cold which didn't want to leave me... But in the end, I killed it with lots amount of Vitamin C and two weeks of taking it easy!
