Coming Home is her debut novel. There's nothing like a sweet, clean, quick love story to warm your heart. This is the first book in a series of three stand-alone books.
Paullett wrote: "Congratulations on your debut novel, J.D.! What was your inspiration for writing a series of three?"Hi Paullett! Thank you and thank you for asking about the series. I would have to say my inspiration for Coming Home was the Hallmark Channel movies. I love sappy, sweet, HEA stories as they are a great distraction from all the negatives in the real world. It started as a different story, but you know how characters have a mind of their own, lol. Once I wrote the first, the other characters stories just demanded to be told...so here I am, trying to tell them the best way I can.
Hi Everyone! I'm JD Park, author of the Home Series that starts with Coming Home. I hope if you had a chance to read it, you fell in love with the characters as much as I did. I wanted to start this Meet the Author with getting to know the main characters, Rayanne and Colby. I gave Rayanne a question sheet to see how well she really knows Colby...Let's see how she did :)
JD: Okay, Rayanne, give it a shot. I'll ask him the same questions when we're done to see how you did. Good luck!
Rayanne: I'm so nervous, but okay, give me what you got!
What is Colby doing right now?
Playing words with friends with Chaz.
How many tattoos does he have?
Zero. He would never.
What dressing does he like on his salad?
Blue cheese most of the time, but he likes to order caesar salad when we go out.
Name something he hates.
When I cry.
What does he like to drink?
Water most of the time. Fancy micro-brews when we drink.
What is something he collects?
Pencils, lol. He is an architect/contractor so he can never have too many.
What is his favorite color?
Hmmm, he's not picky about colors. I think he looks best in blue, so he has a lot of that.
Favorite animal?
Dogs. Always dogs. Exotic animal, dolphin
Nickname for you?
Sunshine and it has been for most of my life.
What would he never wear?
Sandles with socks. But let's be honest, nobody should wear that.
What is his favorite sport to watch?
Watch baseball, play golf.
What could he spend all day doing?
Watching movies with me.
Who is his favorite person?
Me, of course!
What are his favorite sweets?
He's not a big sweets guy but cheesecake. Do it get extra points is he says his sister's cheesecake?
JD: Awesome, Rayanne! Let's see how you did? Colby, You're up!
What is Colby doing right now?
Before this, I was playing a game on my phone.
How many tattoos does he have?
None. Never will.
What dressing does he like on his salad?
I like ceaser salad.
Name something he hates.
When people are late and when Ray cries.
What does he like to drink?
Water or beer.
What is something he collects?
I don't really collect anything?
What is his favorite color?
I wear a lot of blue?
Favorite animal?
Dogs.
Nickname for you?

JD: Wow, you guys! I can't believe how many of Ray got right!
Rayanne: Well, we have been friends since, like, birth! I'd be so sad If I got them wrong. And Colby, you collect pencils! You have like a million!
Colby: I didn't know that counted! I'd say I hoard more than collect, but you are right, I do have a bunch.
I hope you all liked learning a little bit more about the main characters in Coming Home. I look forward to interacting with you throughout the month!
Thanks, Grasshopper! The last couple of months have been crazy and I've been a little MIA on here, but I'm back now :)
Ah!!! I love this character interview!!! This is awesome! Thanks for answering the inspiration question! I know just what you mean. Characters have a mind all their own and hijack all our best plans. ;)
Hi! So I thought I would give you a little info about me. I've been with my husband for almost 17 years and married for nearly 8. He is an organic farmer, and we live on 28 acres, 14 of which are a large oak grove filled with wild turkeys, deer, and so many birds! Since we're talking about facts, let's see who's read Coming Home! When Rayanne decides to move back home, what state was she living in?
A. Califonia
B. Illinois
C. Georgia
D. Texas
I can't wait to see who gets this right!
That looks like a lovely place to live in J.D. An oak grove with deer and birds... stuff dreams & fairytales are made of.😊
THANK YOU ALL FOR PLAYING! Catherine and Shanna are correct! She went to school in CA then moved for work to Chicago before returning home to CT!
And yes, the oak grove is the stuff dreams are made of!! Add in 10 chickens, three labs, two cats and two kids...chaos ensues!
