Stuck on what to read next? Or want to recommend your favourite MG book(s) to others? Well, you’ve come to the right place!

This is the book recommendations directory page. This is a page to help redirect you to other topics where you can recommend or find recommended books. Please do not recommend books below.

If you think there is a genre or subgenre of books that has not had a recommendations topic opened up for it and you would like one to be opened please let me know below.

Book recommendations topics:
Humour
Contemporary
Fantasy
Mystery
Superhero
Supernatural
LGBT+
Legal
Sci-fi
Historical Fiction

zaiyah (skellyzelly) Can we do recs in a category only for the readathons? Because I feel like some people may not know what would be a good book to read for the topic.

So I was gonna put a link to the contemporary and humour recommendations on the nature and happiness readathon page and I was going to set up a separate topic for LGBT+ recommendations.
I thought it would be better that way so the recommendations could be to read in general but also for the readathon.

Or do you think I should set up specific recommendation pages for the readathons?

message 4: by zaiyah (new)

zaiyah (skellyzelly) Me too.

Check it out guys I’ve added a new LGBT+ recommendations page and I’ve updated the readathons to include links to the appropriate recommendations pages as well as include some more info so all we have to do now is go ahead and recommend some books to each other!

zaiyah (skellyzelly) Can we do a fiction one? I know so many good fiction MG books. And…do you mind if we make pages ourselves?

Sorry, I keep bothering you with the pages I want to open up.

You are totally not bothering me. I actually read your comment ages ago and mentally responded to it. Sorry I have a really bad habit of not physically replying to someone. I blame the inconvenience of using goodreads on my phone.

But yeah I wanted to ask like fiction is super wide a genre because anything that’s not non-fiction is fiction which pretty much encompasses all genre pages I’ve already put up. So, is there a more specific genre you’re looking for books to recommend in?

zaiyah (skellyzelly) Sorry, that was kind of broad. But, it's like books that don't fall under any of the other pages but still aren't non-fiction.

Comme:
Crushing It
Small Medium at Large
The Candymakers

Wouldn't necessarily be considered any other genre than fiction. Does that make sense?

I know what you mean, yeah. I’d say they’re all part of the contemporary genre. Which is basically a genre about normal everyday life. Almost like the opposite of fantasy.

Traci Ann (ireadchildlit) | 37 comments Adventure
Crime/Thriller
Legal
Historical Fiction

This can be a good subgenre too :)

A Robin Reads (arobinreads) I would really love some science fiction recommendations, because I want to get more into the genre

Well, Robin Reads, the best science fiction that I've read lately is The Murderbot Diaries series starting with All Systems Red (The Murderbot Diaries, #1) by Martha Wells by Martha Wells.

@Robin good idea I’ll set a new page up for it tomorrow! I don’t read much sci-fi so I don’t think I’ll be able to recommend anything but definitely other people will

@Traci those are great sub genres! I’ll look into seeing pages up for some of them tomorrow

message 14: by A Robin Reads (new)

A Robin Reads (arobinreads) @Lynn Thanks! Will read that definitely, sounds so funny and good

message 15: by A Robin Reads (new)

A Robin Reads (arobinreads) @Kadi We can recommend Found :)

@Robin I guess yeah! I never considered it to be sci-fi but it might be. I set up the page but haven’t included it at the top yet because my laptop was being a pain today and I had to take it apart again

Tiffany (justadream_away) | 124 comments Can we get a Historical Fiction recommendations page please? It's one of my favorite genres, and I'd love to have it as a topic here!

message 18: by Kadi, Creator (new)

Kadi P (kadi_p) | 4318 comments Mod
Absolutely Tiffany! Here's the link for it: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... and I've added it to the list in the first comment at the top of the page too.

I'm perusing my shelf to make some recs but I don't really read historical fiction so this could be difficult. Feel free to make your own recommendations!😊
