Marlise (mawz76) | 171 comments okay Frankenstien... I hated it. Hated Frankenstein and I hated his creation and pretty much everyone else in the novel and everything they said and did. Lol. I was wanting to like it, but I counted down the pages until I was finished.

Bryan--The Bee’s Knees (theindefatigablebertmcguinn) | 141 comments Do you think it was the time it was set in/written, or was it the subject matter?

I thought I had read this when I was a kid, but when I re-read it again last year, I felt like I had probably stopped half-way. I really enjoyed it this time--made me want to read The Last Man by her too. Maybe next month's read will appeal to you more.

Did we pick a book for next month? I've either not been able to find the book selected, or it's something I've read recently. I'll have to check the bookshelf to see what's coming up.

Marlise (mawz76) | 171 comments I don't think it was the time period or the subject matter. I really thought I'd like it. But Victor Frankenstein is probably one of the weakest most pitiful characters I've come across in a long time. And his creation was like a mirror of him in a way, although more of a 'man' than his creator because at least he decided on a course of action and went with it. Lol.

I did enjoy the descriptive writing of the different physical settings however.

Marlise (mawz76) | 171 comments I just felt like it was about 200 pages of these characters bitching and moaning. haha
