Louise | 491 comments I have been remiss in asking for nominations so let's get going. You may nominate up to 5 NYRB Classics titles until Sunday June 9th at 11:59pm EDT, after which I will create a poll for the most nominated books.

What NYRB do you want to read?

sisilia (sisilia9) | 53 comments It's very difficult to get Simenon's titles - I tried Book Depository and some stores in NYC. I am looking for total of 7 titles, including Dirty Snow :( , but have not been successful in finding any.

For stockpiling purposes, Better World Book has a used copy of Dirty Snow for $15 (free worldwide shipping), but it'll take forever to get to you. :)

WndyJW | 396 comments I went to vote, but remembered that I will be reading Anniversaries in August (and an over 1000 page book, from Galley Beggar: Ducks, Newburyport. I don't want to vote since I can't promise I'll be able to read.

message 19: by Seana (new)

Seana | 432 comments Just for claritiy's sake, the 15th is Saturday, not Friday.

message 20: by Louise (new)

Louise | 491 comments Yes you are correct Seana. Only 13 votes so far. You have until tomorrow to get your vote in!

message 21: by Louise (new)

Louise | 491 comments It's a tie! So I suggest we read Charles Bovary, Country Doctor: A Portrait of a Simple Man in August and That Awful Mess on the Via Merulana in September.

If anyone would like to lead the discussion for either book, please pm me.

message 22: by Seana (new)

Seana | 432 comments I somehow just got around to reading the results here and I think that is an excellent solution. I look forward to them both.

WndyJW | 396 comments I think the diary starts on Aug 21, which is when I will start it. I plan on reading a diary entry a day. If the diary skips days, I will skip days,

I will do the same, Wendy. Do you know if there's any discussion group for this?
