It is clear that Peggy likes Andrew more than just a friend, but her current situation with Steve doesn't lend itself for her to move on. She sent mixed signals to Andrew though. I don't think she handled what transpired well, but these situations are commonly tricky.
What the heck does a dog-eared tennis ball look like? I love metaphors and i like the author’s style of writing, and i especially like to read English writers, but that’s just ridiculous. I do hope Andrew can try to move back into the friend zone. He needs a good friend too. I hate that he still hasn’t told her the truth and that she led him on. Poor Andrew. I want to know the story behind the song that triggers him.
I think Peggy led Andrew on because she wants to be with him, but is scared to move forward. I just hope he won’t let this disrupt their friendship. I’m afraid that the secret he’s carrying will be too much for Peggy. He needs to confess that his wife left him and they’re getting a divorce. Okay, not really, but the lie has gone on too long.

I do ho..."
I need to know that that is too! Maybe one of our English members can weigh in because it’s bugging me what a dog-eared tennis ball could even look like.

the chapter where they go on this trip and find B was written so beautifully. I loved every part of it and it broke my heart to see that Andrew and Peggy may have damaged their friendship. Im not so sure Andrew can go back to being just friends because of his wife and kids being a lie.
I grew up in the UK, but left 25 years ago. I'm guessing that the dog-eared tennis ball is one that is rather worn looking after being used a lot.
The trip with Peggy and her kids seemed like the ideal time for Andrew to tell her the truth. The phone ringing at the end of chapter 17 could have been the catalyst for this to happen and I really hoped that it would, but the opening words of chapter 18 left me wondering if he ever would as he started to work out excuses once more.
