Fritz Leiber discussion

In this interview at 1:40 in Fritz sets the record straight (as he reportedly had to do all his life) on how to pronounce his name. The first syllable of Leiber is pronounced to rhyme with rye, my favorite whiskey form. I once had a teacher named Mrs. Lieberman and she told us the rule for names with German backgrounds. When there is an 'i' and an 'e', you pronounce the long form of the second vowel. So for her name, it rhymed with bee-burr-man, and for Leiber, cyber.

You probably mispronounced it mentally, so we will count that if you like.
