Ultimate Popsugar Reading Challenge discussion

My daughter has been teaching me about Instagram for a few years. Recently she started an Instagram account to review books and share her love with the Instagram book-loving community, apparently called #bookstagram.

I’m following her, of course (shameless plug: @mochas_and_books) and a few others, and I’m finding it a neat way to be exposed to different kinds of books than what normally gets publicized in the echo chamber of my friends’ Goodreads, what Goodreads thinks I’ll enjoy, and the few indie bookstore newsletters I get.

So I’m wondering what #bookstagram accounts you follow? Any you’d recommend?

I am a bookstagrammer (@secondmondaybookclub) and I love it! There are too many for me to suggest, so check out my page and see all the ones I'm following. A couple of my faves are @busy.people.who.love.books and @what_kel_reads.

I'm @silver_valkyrie_reads and I tend to post a lot more currently reading or simple-ish review shots that the pretty, full of mugs and flowers and candles, photos that sometimes take over bookstagram.

I do like @elizabeth_sagan for really clever, fun staged photos, but usually I prefer accounts like @abookishbutterfly or @theunderratedbookproject that actually talk about books and/or give reviews.

My bookstagram is @turningthepgs. (www.instagram.com/turningthepgs) I post a ton of book photos of various genres. I am also a librarian so I am around books literally all of the time. I follow a lot of other great bookstagram accounts and I love discovering new ones.

LOL I never use Instagram, but I'm going to go follow all of these and maybe that will make my feed more interesting!

I tried to bookstagram briefly, but kept forgetting to do it.


ETA I just added all of those and I see a strong coffee/books connection! a while back we had a QOTW about coffee or tea - looks like the bookstagrammers are coming down strong for coffee.
