New 52 Aquaman


Overall, a solid 3.5. It's frustrating when new writers are brought on and the quality slips.

Super Sons by Peter Tomasi


Ahhh, this was so good! 5 stars. One of my all-time favorite DC series. Just utterly delightful.

Batman & Robin by Grant Morrison & Paul Cornell


Ehhh, a generous 3 stars. Closer to 2.5 overall. Mostly because, well. Grant Morrison.

Star Wars: Darth Vader by Kieron Gillen


4 stars all the way. I really liked Gillen's take on Vader.

Venom by Daniel Way


3 stars. The art was a bit much to take at times. Very late 90's early 00's fashion. Never my favorite.

Black Widow by Mark Waid


4 stars. Interesting look in on Nat's history.

New 52 Nightwing


4 stars. It's Nightwing and Dick is my favorite son.

Batman Incorporated by Grant Morrison


2.5 stars. Why I keep reading Grant Morrison when I know I won't enjoy the experience is beyond me.

Lady Killer by Joëlle Jones


4 stars. Jones spins some good stories, but it kinda fell apart by the end. It's pretty gruesome as well.

5 stars. So much social commentary and satire.

Shade, the Changing Man by Peter Milligan


3.5 stars. I still remember feeling dizzy after reading these.

4 stars. Great story about relationships, love, and what it means to be human.

Fantastic Four & FF by Jonathan Hickman


5 stars overall. Hickman's run is what got me into the Fantastic Four. I was sad to see this series run end.

5 stars. One of the only good things Orlando has written!

Grayson by Tim Seeley & Tom King


5 stars. One of the best series I've read and the series that got me back to reading comic books after a decade away from them. X-Men Age of Apocalypse really soured me on comics for a long time.

3 stars. If I'd read what happened before about the Terrigen Cloud, I might have enjoyed this more.

4 stars. This was my introduction to Pride & Prejudice retellings and threw me down a Very Long rabbit hole.

The Rebirth titles are going to have to go into the on hold/waiting for a new volume section for a looooong time I think. But anything from New 52 in DC or pre-Secret Wars in Marvel is done and I can start getting those knocked out too.

Right? They cut out a bunch of unnecessary storylines in the anime, made it a lot more palatable.

I got to volume 10. Keep meaning to go back to it... Glad to hear it will be worth it!

Plus the art is a lot better. It's now a pretty old anime. I think it came out early 2000's but I still really like it. :)

Read as single issues. The first half is 5 stars, hands down. The second had a "Steve got frozen again for 200 years!" story that I wasn't into so I'd give it a 2.5. Chris Samnee's art is amazing and perfectly suited to Waid's storytelling.
