I'm not sure what's going on but I'm having a problem with two authors who have the same name: Drew Hayes

Drew Hayes - author I am NOT looking for


When I try to put the author name in the dialogue box via using the "add book/author" link, I can not get the the Drew Hayes I need without ALSO looking for the book first. I cannot just type in "Drew Hayes" and get this author Drew Hayes. I have to first search for the book and then get the author link.

At first, I thought it was because of the spaces in the author name but normally, when GR staff uses extra spaces for authors who have the same name, those authors still show up in the search box. In this case, I only get one author when searching for "Drew Hayes" although there are multiple authors named "Drew Hayes" - and this is never the author I'm looking for.

Another Librarian taught me that the "add author" tab of the search box you're talking about is sensitive to the number of blank spaces an author profile has.

The Drew Hayes you're looking for is Drew^^Hayes, and if you type the name in with two blank spaces, the profile you're looking for should pop up in the search.
