Eliza | 241 comments What are some BR books that are on the steamier side?

BR are so fascinating to me...you either get one that is super passionate or one that all they do is hold hands. Anyway, if anyone can suggest a steamier oldie, I would be grateful for it!

daemyra, the realm's delight (irene_romance) | 84 comments Hi Eliza, if by steam you mean erotic, I think I follow. I didn’t find Bertrice Small particularly erotic when I read the first Skye O’Malley but that could also be that I wasn’t reading the right book by her.

It’s an obvious one but Stormfire was very steamy!

Eliza | 241 comments Nah- I wouldn't say erotic....just some good love scenes in them. Stormfire is one of my top favorites!

Simona (simonaw) | 36 comments I recently discovered Virginia Henley and I believe she writes very steamy scenes. I agree about Bertrice Small. It takes a lot to get into her books. Karen Robards's Island Flame is a good steamy BR.

What is your definition of steamy? Graphic details about sex or more lovemaking scenes or early love scenes to get things going?

Eliza | 241 comments more lovemaking scenes....I've read a few erotica and I just can't get into them, they never have a good story and all that sex gets boring.

I will say that Robin Schone -does an amazing job of it. But she's about the only one I like.

I'll check out Virginia Henley and see what she has, too!

Simona (simonaw) | 36 comments If you're looking for Historical Erotic Romance, then you can check out Julia Templeton. BRs are very lengthy and thus often even well-praised ones may not be to your liking.

I think Connie Mason has frequent lovemaking scenes in her books. You should try her first and maybe you can tell whether she was suitable for you.

Eliza | 241 comments I'm pretty familiar in BRs and they're definitely my favorite genre. I love how un-pc they are :)

I've read a few Connie Mason books, and I liked them.

Blondie (blonde76) | 86 comments I really like Susan Johnson and her earlier books are not pc

I will try to think of more when I am not so tired

In Kindle Canada, Island Flame is $19.99... and has stayed this way for about a year now. Does this show up for anybody else? This and Robards' Banning Sisters are so exorbitantly expensive (beyond $15).

Irene, Island Flame and the Banning Sisters trilogy are on Scribd. Not sure if you have Scribd but there is a 30 day free trial and then it costs $8.99 a month (not sure if Canada is different, should cost the same).

The Banning Sisters Trilogy is also available to borrow for free on archive.org:

Scandalous https://archive.org/details/isbn_9780...

Irresistible https://archive.org/details/KarenRoba...

Shameless https://archive.org/details/shameless...

Not the same as owning the books on Kindle, I know :/ All the books cost 7.99 on Kindle in the US.

daemyra, the realm's delight (irene_romance) | 84 comments Meredith, why are you so awesome?!

I am DEFINITELY doing that. It didn’t even occur to me to find it online - I usually do that if I have no other choice. Which I don’t right now haha.

Pauline (michiganpal) | 2 comments I am "abbreviation challenged" you could say. What is BR?

message 14: by Eliza (new)

I'm looking forward to reading Savage Surrender by Natasha Peters soon Savage Surrender by Natasha Peters , I've heard it's pretty steamy.
