The author was asked by the publisher to write a Christmas story and she decided to use the secondary characters as the focus. Were you satisfied with a story almost completely without Sarah and Frank? What more did you learn about them that you didn’t already know?

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments I thought it was a nice change to use the secondary characters to work the case while Frank and Sarah were on their honeymoon. But, I did miss Frank and Sarah's involvement in the case.

I missed them, too, but loved seeing Gino and Maeve’s relationship develop. And, I loved seeing her in action. We learned quite a lot about her training. When she went to see Harry Nicholson (the lawyer), she knew exactly how to handle him!

Phrynne | 607 comments I enjoyed it more than I expected. For some reason I have not been comfortable with Maeve's character up to now but this book fixed things for me.

Oh, that’s good to hear, Phrynne! I’ve been a Maeve fan for awhile now.

Phrynne | 607 comments I am not really sure what I had against her but I am in her corner now:)

~ Giulia ~ | 193 comments I was a bit wary at first when I understood that Frank and Sarah weren't going to be in this story, but I have to say that I shouldn't have worried as I ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would :)

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments I enjoyed how each of the characters played to their strengths and worked together.
That said, the case was very predictable and I didn't enjoy it as much as previous books.
